Applications in Aerospace and Aviation
TORAYCA® carbon fibres are integral to modern aviation and aerospace, used in primary and secondary structures for Boeing and Airbus commercial aircraft, the International Space Station, satellites, rocket motor casings, and expendable launch vehicles like the Boeing Delta programs. Notably, TORAYCA® T800 carbon fibre is the only carbon fibre certified by the FAA for critical flight path components of the Boeing 777.

Applications in Sports and Recreation
TORAYCA® carbon fibres also provide superior material solutions for demanding recreational and sports applications. Common uses include golf club shafts, commercial and game fishing rods, windsurfing equipment, bicycle components, and skiing equipment. On a larger scale, TORAYCA® is chosen for America’s Cup sailboats and other high-performance marine craft, and it is the preferred material for Stealth rackets.

Carbon Fibre Types
TORAYCA® carbon fibres are offered in two main types:

  • T Series – High-strength fibres with standard and intermediate modulus values.
  • M Series – Intermediate and high-modulus fibres, including the higher-strength MJ series.

Key Products:

MJ and M Series – Represent the highest-modulus PAN-based carbon fibres available. PAN-based high-modulus fibres surpass pitch-based fibres, offering tensile and compressive strengths more than twice that of corresponding pitch-based fibres. The MJ series provides enhanced tensile strength and elongation over the M series, making them ideal for stiffness- and CTE-critical applications such as spacecraft and premium sporting goods, including Stealth badminton rackets.

T700S – The highest-strength, standard-modulus fibre available, featuring excellent processing characteristics for filament winding, weaving, and prepregging. Its never-twisted form is used in a variety of industrial and recreational applications.
